UPDATE ON CUBAN FIVE

Three of the Cuban Five have been moved to the Federal Detention Center in Miami Florida.  They are being held in solitary confinement, just as they were for the first seventeen months after they were arrested 11 years ago.  They were not allowed to bring with them any personal belongings and are only permitted to make phone calls once a week.

They are scheduled to be re sentenced individually on October 13th by the same judge who presided over their first trial.  People are being encouraged to attend the re sentencing if possible as a way to show solidarity with the Cuban Five.

They can be written to at the following address:

Thanks for posting this. Outside of Miami, the U.S. media has imposed a virtual blackout on this case making it much more difficult to organize american public opinion against the injustice being committed against The Cuban Five. A large number of people turning up on Oct. 13th to witness the resentencing might help lift the media blockade.
Also, do not forget that two of the wives of The Five have been unable to visit their husbands. Adriana Perez, wife of Gerardo Hernandez, has never been allowed to enter the United States since he was arrested eleven years ago. Her most recent visa denial was this July under the Obama administation.
