Democrats Enrage Gay Community - AGAIN!!

The New York State Senate voted down Marriage Equality and rallies broke out in Union Square. The rage was not only from the bills defeat, but because of the "Democrat Traitors". While all Republican Senators voted against the bill, it was the 8 Democrats who voted against Marriage Equality who were the targets of widespread anger.

It is generally accepted that it was the LGBT Community that put the Democrats in control of the State Senate. Some of these Democrats had been vocal supporters of Marriage Equality, like Dem. Hiram Monserrate of Queens. But two can play that game.

The rallies following the defeat were not candlelight vigils and they were not just useless venting of rage. They were group planning meetings about the 2010 elections and the New York Seats. One speaker, "They think we have no where else to go, well the backlash begins - and in New York the LGBT Community can be powerful."

What the Democrats have yet to learn is that they will not only be losing monetary donations and foot soldiers, but votes. As the Democrats were named and shamed they have yet to see what it means to a constituency to find out their "friends" in the Democratic Party betrayed them. This may last past 2010 and outside the state boundaries of New York.
