Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Oregon wants to RAISE ITS RATES on individual plans by an average of 22 PERCENT. Before doing so, it must get the approval of the Oregon Insurance Division, which will hold a hearing about this on June 2.
Portland Jobs with Justice will hold a RALLY beforehand and provide testimony during the hearing.

WORKSHOP ON SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE, Saturday, June 25
This week, the governor of Vermont signed into law a plan to offer truly affordable health care to everyone in the state.
Portland Jobs with Justice wants to make sure Single Payer health care is coming next to Oregon! To that end, the JwJ Health Care Committee is offering a free workshop, called "Review of Single Payer" covering basic questions about Single Payer health systems.

Saturday, June 25, 10 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
at the JWJ office (6025 E Burnside).
To register for the June 25th class, write back to singlepayoregon@gmail.com and please include 3-4 questions that you'd like answered so we get the most appropriate presenters. Workshops at later dates will cover legislative strategy and tips on public speaking - details to be announced.
