Single Payer, Fair Trade, Working Families Party Popular at Labor Day Picnic

The Second Annual Marion-Polk-Yamhill Labor Day Picnic featured great food, speakers, and literature at Riverfront Park.

Dr. Christopher Goeser, from Mad As Hell Doctors, was on hand to explain how a Single Payer healthcare system works.  Also known as Medicare for All,  Single Payer was a popular topic of discussion.

Representatives from the Oregon Working Families Party were also on hand.

Fair Trade - vs Free Trade - was also an issue for working families. The Marion-Polk-Yamhill Fair Trade Campaign encouraged all to call Congressman Schrader to relay concerns about jobs for Oregonians. Family wage jobs will be lost if the Korea Free Trade Agreement passes Congress in October. Fair trade is a better way to go!

Congratulations to the Marion-Polk-Yamhill Labor Central Labor Council for an event well done!
