It is pathetically comical.
After three years of European Union (EU) imposed austerity agreements, Greek Prime Minister, George Papandreou announced yesterday that the next round of imposed austerity measures would be put to the Greek people in the form of a national referendum.
Within hours of Papandreou's announcement of the referendum, he was "summoned" (yup, "summoned" was the term used throughout the world media) to the G20 meeting in Cannes, France to explain his government's action. The next day, that is today, George Papandreou announced that after all, the referendum would not be held.
Clearly the survival of European capitalism, the EU and the European banks is too important to be left to the people. After all, a people as beat up as the Greeks might actually reject another round of muggings from the European financial elites; this is why the referendum was canceled
For the rest of us, these recent Greek events are a clear demonstration of who really calls the shots in our so-called democracies. And guess what? It's not the people calling the shots.
Papandreou and his government are getting played like a puppet and the strings of control are as visible as 6 inch steel cables. Follow these strings of control and they will take you to the real centers of power in Berlin, Paris and Brussels.
There's a lesson here...

Just saw. Referendum called off and Prime Minister is going nowhere. No call for new elections
