There was a lead story on a Portland local news broadcast tonight that ran with the Portland Police reporting that there was a stabbing at the Occupy Portland Camp. However it turned out that the person was stabbed at Tom McCall Waterfront Park and then walked to the Occupy Portland Camp for help.
Obviously the person knew that was a place with people who cared and could help them. This is clearly a dis information campaign meant to discredit Occupy Portland. While it is reasonable to think that the Police may have made a mistake, they did not check out the information before issuing a statement for the 5:00 news. Whether the wrong information was given intentionally or not matters little to the Oregonians who were victims of disinformation.
