UNAC CONFERENCE GOES GLOBAL: SPEAKERS FROM HONDURAS, HAITI AND BRITISH TRADES UNION CONGRESS

The United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC) March 23-25 is departing from past conferences. Previously the focus was more exclusively on the U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. This conference will provide education, discussion and analysis of the global scope of U.S. imperialism. The title: "Challenge The Wars Of The 1%".

I am particularly looking forward to the international speakers. At the top of my list is Xiomara de Zelaya, the wife of the former Honduran President who was ousted by a U.S. backed coup. She was just named presidential candidate of the new party of Honduran resistance known as "Libertad Y Refundacion".
The other internationally known speakers will be Fignole St. Cyr of the Haitian Autonomous Workers Confederation and Andrew Murray, a member of the British Trades Union Congress Executive Council. He was a leader of the November 30th General Strike over Pensions last year.

The war at home on the Black community will be addressed at a major plenary panel featuring Glen Ford of "Black Agenda Report", Pam Africa and hip hop agitator Jared Ball.

There will also be plenary sessions for the attendees to discuss a draft action plan for activities in the coming months. For a complete list of workshops, presenters and the draft action plan: www.unac-peace.org
